Since 2025, we have been supporting the Tanzanian organization FONELISCO (Foundation of New Life for Street Children and Orphans) in Mwanza on Lake Victoria. Together with our German partner organization, FONELISCO e.V., we provide around 60 former street children with a safe home, regular meals, and access to education. In addition, the children receive psychosocial support and, wherever possible, are reintegrated into their families.

The MeierStiftung is deeply committed to this work, as it offers the children not only immediate assistance but also prospects for an independent life. Our foundation was established in 2019. Initially, we supported street children in the Democratic Republic of Congo and funded a project in Uvira (South Kivu). Due to the acute danger posed by the M23 rebels, we had to reluctantly end this commitment at the end of 2024. Since 2025, we have been working with FONELISCO and continuing our support for street children in Tanzania.
